Commercial electrical installation in Leeds
New circuits, fit-outs and full-scope installation for offices, retail, industrial and managed premises. Designed, installed, tested and certified to BS 7671 by NICEIC-approved engineers.
What commercial electrical installation covers
Commercial electrical installation is the design, install, test and certify cycle for the fixed electrical wiring of a business premises. It spans new builds, refurbishments, change-of-use conversions, additions to existing circuits, and the small-works tail of a wider M&E scheme.
Every installation we deliver is built to BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and signed off with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). For partial works the appropriate Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is issued, and as-fitted drawings are updated where the original drawing pack is provided.

Why use Martin Day Commercial
We have run commercial installation works across Leeds and West Yorkshire for over 30 years. The team is NICEIC Approved, CHAS certified, TrustMark registered and Part P registered, with £5,000,000 public liability insurance. We do not subcontract certification — every certificate is signed by a Martin Day engineer.
The positioning matters. We are a commercial contractor with a deliberately separate trading identity from our parent brand Martin Day Electricians. When you call us, you are not booking a domestic electrician who happens to take commercial work. You are booking a team that lives in office, retail, industrial and managed-property scope every day.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work out of hours to avoid disrupting our business?
Yes. Evening, overnight and weekend work is standard for retail and office fit-outs. We quote in-hours and out-of-hours rates separately so you can choose. For retail fit-outs, out-of-hours work is included in the standard quote.
Do you provide design as well as install?
Yes for small and medium installs. For large or specialist projects we work to a consultant's design, or partner with our preferred M&E consultancies.
What certificates do we get on completion?
A BS 7671 Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) covering the new work, plus any necessary minor works certificates, and an updated as-fitted drawing where applicable.
Are you NICEIC-approved?
Yes. We hold NICEIC Approved Contractor status, which means our installation work is independently audited annually and covered by the NICEIC Platinum Promise.
Can you scale up for a large project?
Yes. The core team handles most jobs in-house. For larger schemes we draw on a known and vetted bench of additional engineers under our supervision and certification.
